Understanding Foreign-Trade Zones Uses and Benefits

MOBILE, June 20, 2003 /FTZ Corporation/ -- Greg Jones of the Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation will talk about the Foreign-Trade Zone program at a seminar presented by the Mississippi World Trade Center on July 9 at the Isle of Capri Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The seminar will cover FTZs from A to Z, and include essential information on how they work, the benefits to U.S. companies and communities, and the different types of Foreign-Trade Zones.

Designated an Honorary Life Member by the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones in October 2000, Greg has been an active member of the NAFTZ since 1987 and served as its president from 1993 to 1995.

Greg Jones is a principal of the Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation – Zone Project Administrators and consultants for 8 Zone projects in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. Greg specializes in integrating business-oriented FTZ procedures into the operations of companies that use Zone procedures for manufacturing and distribution operations, and in helping communities establish FTZ projects.

The Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation is a service provider offering FTZ cost-benefit analyses, applications, boundary modifications, assistance in designing and creating Zone projects, training, and Foreign-Trade Zone management software.

The seminar is designed to provide a working knowledge of cost saving measures companies can receive by being part of the Foreign-Trade Zones program. The presentation is of interest to the entire business community, especially economic development professionals and companies involved in international trade, manufacturing, distributing and wholesalers, as well as finance and tax professionals, freight forwarding services and customs brokerage services.
